Faith & Religous Matters

Friends International is a Christian organisation, and therefore we have strong links with local churches and Christian groups in Lancaster.


Exploring Christianity

Each year free courses are run which explain the Christian faith. This is an opportunity to find out more about Christianity and the Bible, and is open to students of any nationality or religious background.

Tuesdays @ 7:00pm Christianity Explored run by Moorlands Church; meeting in the Chaplaincy Centre Lounge, Lancaster University

Wednesdays@ 7:00pm Christianity Explored; meeting at the home of Andy and Elspeth Wood, 23 Yealand Drive, Lancaster, LA1 4EW

Thursdays @ 7:30pm Exploring Christianity led by Sue Kiernan; meeting in the home of Graham Rand, Chapel Lane, Galgate.

Churches

Students of any nationality or faith background are always welcome to visit a church, either for a Sunday service, or just to look round. Most churches display the service times on a noticeboard outside. Below you will find links for some of the churches in Lancaster.

Growing as a Christian

Many of the Local Churches in Lancaster have Bible studies in small groups meeting during the week.

'Discipleship Explored' is a course for Christians, exploring what it means to be a disciple of Jesus through the Book of Philippians.  This runs on Wednesdays @ 2:00pm in the Chaplaincy Centre.  If you are interested contact us by email.


The Graduate Christian Fellowship at Lancaster University also meets for Bible Study and Fellowship.  Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the Graduate Porters Lodge, Graduate College, Lancaster University.

The Chinese Christian Fellowship at Lancaster University meets for Bible Study and Fellowship, in Mandarin language.  Fridays at 6:45pm in the Chaplaincy Centre, Lancaster University.  See the 'Other Activities' page for more details.
